Sheps get huge win over Sentinels 7-5

BOX SCORE

The So-Cal Shepherds get back over .500 with a win over the Arroyo Seco Sentinels with a score of 7-5. The win brings the Sheps record to 6-5 and moves their home record to 5-2.

The Shepherds got the scoring started early in the bottom half of the first after Drew Salyers got his team leading 9th RBI with a single to drive in Aaron Zubiate. Rhett Stein came up behind him with a two RBI single to score both Drew Salyers and Shane Poe and give the Sheps the 3-0 lead.

The Sentinels answered right back with three of their own as an RBI walk, single and sac fly scored three to immediately tie it up in the top of the second.

Sam Mueller would come into the game in the top of the seventh and pitch 4 ⅔ innings giving up two runs on two hits and earn the win as the Sheps would take the lead before coming out of the game.

The Sheps would retake the lead in the bottom of the fifth as Andrew Lujan would single in KJ Moo-Young to set the stage for JP Hefft to single in another run and give the Sheps a 5-3 lead.

The Sentinels would answer right back again, scoring two in the top of the sixth to immediately tie the ballgame up at five a piece.

This time was different however as the Sheps would answer the sheps with a RBI single by KJ Moo-Young before Moo-Young was able to score on a fielder's choice after stealing third after getting his second stolen base of the game.

That would be the final score of the game as Cameron Kelly would come in and close out the game to get his third save of the year and earn the 7-5 win.
The Shepherds will look to continue the winning ways against the Inland Valley Bucs at Cal Poly Pomona at 4:30 PM.
