Sheps lose tough one to East LA

BOX SCORE

The Shepherds fall to the East LA Dodgers by the score of 5-0 on Friday. The Dodger pitching staff pitched well allowing only three hits to the Shepherds, giving the Shepherds their third loss in a row and sith of their last seven games.

The Dodgers got the scoring started early in the bottom half of the first inning as a double in the left center gap scored a runner from first before a sacrifice fly was able to drive in another for East LA as they scored two and captured the 2-0 lead.

Pitching dominated after the early score as Ritter Steinmann would pitch three more innings, all scoreless, with six strikeouts. On the other side, between the two Dodger pitchers, they had eight strikeouts, two hits, six walks and no runs in six scorless innings.

The Dodgers would break the four inning scoreless streak as they would extend their lead with three runs in the sixth inning off of an error, a double and two singles to make the score 5-0 heading into the final three innings.

The Dodgers would go on to get an Insurence run in the eighth via a home run before they were able to finish off the 6-0 win in the ninth. The Shepherds struck out 12  times as the three Dodger pitchers pitched a combine shutout to lead their team to victory.

The Shepherds look to get back on track tomorrow at LA Valley College with first pitch coming at 11:00AM.
