Sheps fall to Legends

BOX SCORE

The sheps fell to the Long Beach legends by the score of 5-2 on Wednesday. After winning five of six the Sheps have now lost five of six to drop their record below .500 to 10-11 with three games to go in the regular season.

The legends loaded the bases before earning a bases loaded walk to open the scoring before a single up the middle plated two more to earn themselves a 3-0 lead after one.

The Sheps were able to get the first three runners of the third inning on base but were only able to get one run on Rhett Stein’s sacrifice fly to center field to get the Shepherds on the board and make it 3-1, cutting the deficit to two.

The Legends added another in the fifth to extend their lead again as a two out single was able to drive in the run from third and go up 4-1 going into the sixth.

Long Beach would add another in the sixth as they started to pull away from the Shepherds with a two-out triple over the center fielder to score a runner from first and give his team a four run lead.

The Sheps got one back in the eighth with a double from Brenden Coffindaffer before an RBI single from Drew Salyers brought him in to make it a 5-2 game.

The Legends were able to withstand the Sheps and shut them down to finish off the 5-2 win.
